I grew up
on the City Limits of
Fenton MI. The back
yard leads right into
a swamp with fields
beyond.
Some
of my earliest child
hood memories are the
times spent outside
and the dogs. We always
had house dogs and Dad
always had hounds. We
started with Blue tick
coonhounds and Beagles
for rabbits, tried a
few Red Bones and Walkers
the last coon hounds
were Black and Tans.
The
Shiawassee River was
about a mile away at
a place we called High
Banks, which feed the
upper end of The Fenton
Mill Pond. Spent a lot
of timeaccidentail
falling in so
Mom would not be to
upset.
Learned
how to shoot a gun in
Peabodys orchard
on the north side of
Fenton. Dad and two
of my uncles would work
part time and Mr. Peabody
allowed us to rabbit
hunt and use the property.
We
were taught to hunt
for food, latter on
we started hunting more
for the horns and the
good times spent with
family and friends.
Spent
a lot of time on or
below the great lakes,
weather it being diving
the ship wrecks or cruising
in my wifes boat
as well as, fishing
for smallmouth bass.
The time I spend outdoors
with my wife, Family
and Friends are the
best times of my life.
I
believe in this state
and the people in it.
Im here to put
my money were my mouth
is and commit to helping
Camp 2 fires bring to
the forefront some of
the problems this state
and country so desperately
need to address about
the Great Outdoors that
we love.
Come
join us at camp2fires
and spend some time
looking at what you
might be missing.
