Uncle Bob.
Uncle Bob got
his first buck of the '08
season Tuesday night! It was
also my first car/deer accident
ever. I'm ok but the buck,
a five point basket buck,
is reclining in the fridge
nicely!
I was cruising
home Tuesday night heading
south on D-19 in Livingston
Co. when he just slammed into
my truck. I didn't have time
to do anything. Crushed his
skull, snapped his neck, broke
both front shoulders and broke
his left hind leg. All he
did to the truck was dent
the passenger door. Try that
in one of your little gas
saver Honda's! Wound up with
the 'straps and the hind quarters.
. .and yes I am going to mount
him on the wall. . .with a
big old Ford emblem held tightly
in his jaws and my license
plate hanging around his neck.
And yes, I went about it the
right way. I called the Sheriff
department who sent a deputy
out to make the report for
my insurance company and provide
me with a DNR tag for the
deer. You gotta have a road
kill tag friends. . .it's
the law.
I will say though,
the experience gave me nightmares.
First I had a dream that I
was out of butter and garlic!
Then I dreamt that I ran out
of charcoal! It was a tough
night! So I went to the kitchen
and fried up some back strap.
. .with butter and garlic
of coarse, and went back to
sleep.
"The new Ford F-150.
. .back strap till you bust!!!".
Hey, how's this for a new
Ford commercial. . .
"When Bob Bauer hunts
for white tails in Michigan,
his weapon of choice is the
new Ford F-150, built Ford
tough!".
So, I got my buck. . .hope
you get yours. Shoot straight!
(P.S.- American trucks rule!!!)
Uncle Bob.
