Fishing Tails
 At Fletchers Pond
By Big Chuck Kaminskas

   Hey!!!

I want to tell you all about a fun couple of days Bob & I had ice fishing.

We went up north to Fletchers Pond in Hillman. We rented a shanty, I knew you could do that but never had. I have my own portable but did not want to drag it up north. The cost of the shanty was $25.00 per day! They take you out and light a propane heater for you.

The hole is cut big enough to bring big fish through and they even have fishing reels attached to the inside of the shanty to fish with, then they come back out to bring you back in.

Man!!! What a way to go. We spent about $30.00 for bait, made a couple of sandwiches and took some snacks and pops to last the day. It was one of the best days that I've had in a long time.

We caught some nice blue gill and lost some BIG pike! We just were not ready for the big ones.

    Lot's of action!

Fishing, bait, and motel for 2 days was under $200.00, not including gasoline.

Suggestions: I brought an auger for tip-ups, your own ice fishing poles, a small light of some kind for inside for tying baits and DON'T FORGET THE COOLER!!!

   Good luck have fun!

In a week or so Bob and I are going to try our luck up in Higgins Lake for smelt...on hook and line!!! When we get back we will tell you all about it.

    Tight lines everybody!
    Big Chuck Kaminskas
