I
know you've heard me whine about
this before but I'm going to
do it again
so get over
it.
When
I first started this show I
figured it would bring me more
hunting and fishing adventures
and so it has. Last thing I
wanted was to get into a fight
with anybody about anything.
But as time went on, no matter
where the outdoors took me,
I could not get away from the
politics. I hate politics, it's
not necessary, is a tremendous
waster of time, energy and money.
We all know the bottom line
is, has been and always will
be . . . money, no surprise
here. So here we are again,
caught up in another giant boondoggle,
and not of our making. When
we ask for answers from those
who should know, all we get
are lies (I would have said
"half truths" but
those are lies as well. No sense
in sugar coating it).
Here
is the real problem kids . .
. we . . . Michigans great
family outdoor legacy, are becoming
a house divided . . . again!
We
are arguing amongst ourselves
over hunting over a bait pile
or weather or not it's "cool"
or not to hunt highfence. This
is family stuff...we don't do
it in front of outsiders. Who
are the "outsiders"?
Anyone who is against hunting,
fishing, hiking, backpacking
and so on and so on. Get it?
Remember
what happened when we didn't
stick together the last time?
We lost an entire hunting season
for dove. And maybe you still
don't care because you didn't
want to hunt dove anyway. .
.well. . .here they are again
Sparky. . .back for something
else. And they are going to
want more. These people, the
"anti's" and the "I
don't cares", don't want
us to hunt at all, period. Every
time they get a win, like the
dove bill, they will come back
for more.
You
want to know who our biggest
enemy is. US! There are outdoor
writers, radio, and TV show
hosts in this state who . .
. instead of trying to bring
us together, continue to tear
us apart. They side with outsiders
on things such as what kind
of weapons we should or should
not be allowed to have, should
we bait or not, should we hunt
dove, should we have a catch
and release bass season. If
these outdoor guru's don't say
yes to all of the above then
they are not our friends and
we should shun them and publicly
ridicule them. Get them off
the air and out of our newspapers.
I've actually heard radio and
TV persons say publicly
that they would not hunt in
Michigan ever again. Can you
believe that?
If
you are not with us . . . youre
against us. Fingers will be
pointed and names
will be named. I know because
I'm going to be the one doing
it!
While
we're at it, this baiting ban?
Its hog wash and so is the states
attempt to stop high fence hunting.
Let's take a look at baiting.
The biologists don't want us
to bait because it brings the
animals, whitetail deer, together
in a big group and will thus
make it easier to transmit disease.
Well . . . it didn't work in
Wisconsin and. . .deer are a
herd animal and in the winter
they "yard up" to
survive. Ever drive past a mowed
down cornfield and see all the
deer gathered together to feed?
How do you stop them from doing
those two things? You can't.
And the biologists have also
stated that they transmit disease
through their waste . . . keeping
in mind they are a herd animal
. . . how do you stop that?
You can't. So how do they figure
a baiting ban is going to stop
anything? The only thing they
plan on stopping is hunting,
and they are using it as a devise
to divide and conquer us!
Here's
what a baiting ban and a highfence
hunting ban will do. It will
bankrupt thousands of families
whose livelihood is based on
the growing of said bait, family
farmers and the families who
own retail outlets who sell
it to us. And what about all
those gas stations, restaurants,
bait shops and so on that surround
the 500 plus game ranches in
this state, all these families
will be out of business . .
. and at a time when the Michigan
economy is at it's worst in
decades. More economic devastation
. . . does that sound like a
plan for anything else other
than disaster. It has to stop
and I mean now. The baiting
ban is wrong and so is a high
fence ban.
None
of it's based on science and
it's just plain bad economics.
End
it now.
As
for ending the high fence hunting.
Governnor Granholm and The Michigan
Pork Producers are behind this
one along with the rest of the
democrats in this state. They
are trying to scare the population
into thinking that they are
going to get bit by all these
hogs they claim are running
loose in Michigan . . . which
is a lie . . . and that the
pseudorabies will be transmitted
to humans. Another lie. This
whole thing with the hogs is
based on greed. The Michigan
Pork Producers don't want anyone
getting their pork anywhere
else but from them. And if you
do the math . . . the Pork producers
come out looking pretty silly
and very greedy . . . which
they are. And the Governor?
She get's money from the M.P.P.
and money is all she cares about
. . . not money for you or me
or anybody else. Money that
will keep her in Michigans
drivers seat. Our Governor
is not for us. She doesn't care
that she is driving money out
of this state. She has a job,
a house(s), a retirement plan
. . . shes all set. What
about you? Oh and by the way
. . . all, you democrats who
claim to support the outdoors?
Just shut up. You look stupid
because we know better. Start
doing something or just shut
up. You owe us an explanation.
So do the republicans. It's
an election year . . . your
fannies are on the line. Now
and two years from now.
So
here's the bottom line. Any
kind of a ban on anything that
affects the outdoors and is
not based on science is wrong.
WE NEED TO STOP FIGHTING EACH
OTHER. You need to stand up
and make your voices heard!
"Get
up, stand up. . .stand up for
your rights.". (Bob Marley)
As
for me. . ."I'm going to
pick a fight!".
